The verdict is in... Obama is unfit for command, or maybe it is that his judgment is unfit to command? I'm sure the DNC would want to separate his mind from his body in order to win in November. Obama's performance in front of Rick Warren's audience at Saddleback left most people who watched convinced he is inexperienced, and does not have what it takes to be president at this time and place in our history.
Obama was asked the same tough issue oriented questions as McCain, and did not give a straight answer. Obama postured himself as a typical lawyer would do, not allowing himself to take a solid stance on anything insofar to reposition himself later as the situation sees fit.
One notable outtake from the Saddleback event, Obama's leftist viewpoint really shines. Obama was asked which Supreme Court Justice would have not nominated, his answer: "the black one!" His reasoning is that Clarence Thomas was too inexperienced for the job! So, if you follow that judgmental reasoning, Obama believes that experience matters, so why is he running for President? He has practically no government experience, especially in the Federal Government realm.
At the DNC, the Vice Presidential Nominee, Joe Biden, tried in vain to explain Obama's legislative experience and stretched the truth or lack thereof nicely, but to most Americans it simply wasn't enough. Bill Clinton spoke of foreign policy, now that's surely a winner. From a man who had the terrorist Arafat at the White House, and lobbed a few missiles at Bin Laden and didn't get him. Oh, and what about the deal to hand over Bin Laden, oops missed that one. It was also Bill Clinton's Justice Department and Jamie Gorelick who put up "the wall" between the FBI and the CIA for information sharing that had a direct impact on possibly catching the 9/11 plotters before 9/11 materialized. If it wasn't for NATO, the Balkin’s War would have been a mess as well, so much for Bill's foreign policy experience. At a time of heightened Islamic terrorism, we cannot afford a Democratic President who would treat terrorism as a law enforcement act as the Clinton administration did in the 1990s.
Now back to Obama.... HE HAS NO FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE! It's not even a blip on the radar. He statements on foreign policy leave American's wondering if they need to move away from the big cities, and head for hills clinging to their guns and religion for protection. This has become a dangerous world since the disintegration of the Soviet Union who we knew was our enemy and most important where they were. Our new enemy, is hard to find, and fractured into so many fundamentalist Islamic groups that only a clear and concise Homeland Security, FBI, CIA, and NSA effort can prevent attacks on our homeland.
Some of you may dislike or hate President Bush, and this hatred repeated over and over again has been spewing out of his rivals’ mouths for almost 8 long years, but Iraq is not his legacy. It will be delegated to a footnote of history. President Bush's biggest accomplishment has been that he kept this country safe from terrorism. It was his reorganization of the Federal departments to combat terrorism and the numerous policy initiatives and changes that have thwarted many attempts to attack our great nation. Bush’s legacy of keeping us safer after 9/11 is for certain, but taking a chance for CHANGE may lead us not into temptation but deliver us to evil.
And, that's all I have to say about that!
