August is generally a slow month for Presidential campaigns, but it is where the winner in the fall makes their move in the polls. This year is no exception, even though the Olympics has taken so much air time from the race. The crisis in Georgia (the country, not the state), has given McCain the boost he needs. Voters already skeptical of Obama's foreign policy experience are now leaning towards McCain in a huge way. If Obama's demeanor is any indicator, he is pissed! After McCain spoke at the VFW convention in Florida, Obama had some choice words to say about McCain attacking his character. Isn't that what candidates oposing you are supposed to do? As well as voters? Aren't t voters supposed to size a candidate up and determine whether they have what it takes to be President? Obama seems to think that a person's charachter has nothing to do with being President. Remember, he wants voters far away from that issue since Rev. Wright, and Ayeres.
The one thing Obama wants to point out that this Presidential election was supposed to be about the Iraq War, and the economy. With the surge working that Obama never thought would, and gas prices falling on the discussion of drilling in America, the race is now a referendum on Obama! While he continues to promote his radical left wing agenda, America has waken up, even during the Olympics, but it has been a long time coming.
No candidate can play the "I'm the winner" mantra all day long. Obama's egotistical portrait of himself was too much for the voters to handle. The media made Obama, and it is the media who has diminished his chances. This has happened in campaigns before, "Dewey Defeats Truman", anyone?
McCain needs to keep focusing on his issues, and continually bring up Obama's character, and inexperience. With the polls about dead even, McCain has Obama right where he wants him, and Obama never saw it coming. By the way, does anyone know where Michelle Obama has been hiding the past month? Maybe she is trying to fill Obama's tires so he could get better mileage.
And, that's all I have to say about that!
